Cecil Charles Holden was born on 8th or 12th May 1912 (Westminster Q2-1912 1A:834), son of Captain Rupert Edward Cecil Lee GUINNESS C.B.,C.M.G.,D.L., RNVR, 2nd Earl of Iveagh and Countess of Iveagh, Lady Gwendolen Florence Mary C.B.E. (née ONSLOW) of Elveden.
Husband of Elizabeth Cecilia, Viscountess Elveden ( née HARE) of Regent's Park, London. They had 4 children, Honor, Arthur Francis (3rd Earl Iveagh) [1937-1992], Elizabeth [1939-] and Henrietta [1942-1978].

He was educated at Eton and Trinity College, Cambridge


Arthur Guinness was killed when a V2 rocket hit the officers mess in Deest ( a few miles NW of Nijmegen). One of the other two men killed was Gunner John Stiles (presumably his batman) who is named on the Elveden WW2 memorial plaque in the Elveden Church.
