The hotel was built in 1900, on the site of what was once a stableman's hostel, as the QUEENS MOAT HOUSE HOTEL. Queens Moat House Hotel by 1991 were the 3rd biggest hotel chain in UK, but on 31 March 1993, trading in its shares was suspended after an accounting scandal. The company was subsequently investigated under Section 432(2) of the Companies Act 1985.
Sold to Stephen Gross and re-named HEATH COURT HOTEL re-modelled in 2010.Still(2019) independently owned and an associate of Great Western Hotels
