Harry MURRELL was born in 1892 in Cherry Hinton (Chesterton Q4-1892 3B:438) son of George and Ellen MURRELL (née REEVE).
1901 census...Aged 8, he was at High Street, Cherry Hinton with his father George MURRELL [32] horse keeper born Ashwell; his mother Ellen [27] born Bottisham; sisters Emily [7], Lily [4] and Daisy [3]. All the children were born in Cherry Hinton. 1911 census...Aged 18, horseman on farm, he was at High Street, Cherry Hinton with his parents; sisters Lily, Edith [9] and Mary [7 months] (both born Cherry Hinton) and grandfather Henry REEVE [62] widower, bricklayer's labourer, born Bottisham. He married Annie PLUMB in Balsham in 1914, who in 1019 married Robert JACOBS of Streetley End, West Wickham. It appears his only connection with Balsham is his wife Annie, perhaps they lived in Balsham for a while?) |

Harry enlisted in Cambridge. So far the war diary has not been found, but since his remains were found as below, it appears he was part of the struggle to take Mouquet Farm. He was identified by his uniform and boots and re-interred in Cayeux in 1926
