Thomas Humphrey Baird was born on 19th August 1904 in Guilden Sutton, Chester (Chester Q3-1904 8A:367), son of Andrew Henry and Elizabeth Heyworth BAIRD (née RAYNER ?) of Waterloo, Liverpool

1911 census... Aged 6, he was at 15 Crosby Road South, Waterloo, Liverpool with his widower father Andrew Henry BAIRD [53] a manufacturing engineer, ships berths, born in Londonderry; his aunt Miriam Rosena BAIRD [43] born Londonderry; sister Mabel [21] born Birkenhead; brothers Clarence [15] born Birkenhead, Andrew Conway [7] born Aughton, Ormskirk, and Maurice Alexander [5] born Guilden Sutton, Chester. His mother seems to have died in 1908.

Educated at the Merchant Taylor's School in Crosby, in 1939 he was a bank official, living with his father and aunt Miriam at 19 Harbord Road, Crosby, Lancashire. His address on death was 34 Witham Avenue, Great Crosby, Lancashire.


He died (Cambridge Q4-1942 3B:564) at Addenbrookes Hospital, Cambridge. It has to be assumed he was stationed at RAF Castle Camps. He was buried in Castle Camps on 9th December 1942.
