Oliver Dockerill was born in Horseheath (Linton Q2-1922 3B:788), baptised in Horseheath on 24th June 1923, son of Emily DOCKERILL of The Green, Horseheath.
His mother seems to be the Emily DOCKERILL [28 Oct 1892] who married Alfred AGER [7 Jan 1887] in 1928,both living at 9 Council Cottages, Shudy Camps Road, Horseheath in 1939. CWGC have his aunt as Mrs E BOWERS of Old Chesterton (perhaps Ethel née DOCKERILL, 9 Ashfield Road, Chesterton, in 1939). His connection with Castle Camps is not known at present. |

The 1st Loyals fought with the 1st Army in Tunisia, before going to Italy via Anzio, where they joined the 98th Army and fought their way north. He died during a lull in the fighting for Monte Cassino due to the bad weather and a few days before the USAF destroyed the monastery. The only one of his battalion to die that day. |
