Gordon Wright SIMPSON was born in 1916(Walsingham Q3-1915 4B:409) son of Joseph Brunskill and Celia Elsie SIMPSON (née WRIGHT), later of Bournemouth
He was a tea planter, and is recorded sailing from London to Calcutta aboard the "Mulbera" on 26th March 1938. In the 1939 register, at 96 Scarboro Road, Walsingham were his mother Celia E SIMPSON (17-5-1888], Walter WRIGHT [19-1-1858] married miller and merchant (her father ?); and Edith M WRIGHT [21-4-1875] married. His father Joseph B SIMPSON [28-6-1879] a butcher, was at 217 Charminster Road, Bournemouth, where there are two closed records. |
He was commissioned w.e.f 20th May 1942. He died in Poona, India, of pneumonia and was buried at St. Sepulchre's Cemetery, Poona by the Methodist Chaplain of Poona and Kirklee. |
