Gordon Wright SIMPSON was born in 1916(Walsingham Q3-1915 4B:409) son of Joseph Brunskill and Celia Elsie SIMPSON (née WRIGHT), later of Bournemouth

He was a tea planter, and is recorded sailing from London to Calcutta aboard the "Mulbera" on 26th March 1938.

In the 1939 register, at 96 Scarboro Road, Walsingham were his mother Celia E SIMPSON (17-5-1888], Walter WRIGHT [19-1-1858] married miller and merchant (her father ?); and Edith M WRIGHT [21-4-1875] married.
His father Joseph B SIMPSON [28-6-1879] a butcher, was at 217 Charminster Road, Bournemouth, where there are two closed records.


He was commissioned w.e.f 20th May 1942.
He died in Poona, India, of pneumonia and was buried at St. Sepulchre's Cemetery, Poona by the Methodist Chaplain of Poona and Kirklee.
