Ernest William Page was born on 31st August 1893 in Cranworth, Norfolk, (Mitford Q3-1893 4B:270), son of Arthur and Emma PAGE(née WYER).

He entered Cranworth C of E School on 17th April 1899, leaving on 13th August 1902. Then Euston Free Voluntary School on 8th September 1902, left Aug/Sep 1906, re-entered Oct 1st and finally left the school on 30th November 1906.

1901 census...Aged 7, he was at Cranworth, Norfolk with his father Arthur PAGE [30] blacksmith born Scoulton; his mother Emma [28] born Carbrooke and brother Leslie A.[2] born Cranworth.

1911 census...Aged 17, a gardener, he was in Euston with his father and brother Leslie Allan. His mother was at Ovington, Watton, visiting her uncle William WHITE.


He enlisted in Wrexham,whilst resident in Euston. .

The Bury Free Press recorded on 13th may 1916 that he was severely wounded in the head at St Eloi on March 23rd and died on the 17th April at No 4 General Hospital, Camiers, being buried at Etaples.
