Leslie Charles Mallion was born in Hundon (Risbridge Q4-1919 4A:1774), son of Harry [9/2/1893] and Eliza Rebecca [29/10/1895] MALLION (née MURKIN).

His widower father, a retired farm worker, was at Coltsfoot Green, Wickhambrook in September 1939 at Hundon Hall Cottages in September 1939 (1 closed record)
In Newmarket, Q4-1940, he married Sylvia Decimore MAYES [9/8/1921]. She was living with her parents Arthur and Nellie MAYES at 8 High Street, Hundon in September 1939 (2 closed records) and later (1947) married Leonard G.CUTHBERT. Leslie's daughter Thelma V. was born in Q3-1941.



Leslie was killed in the last full day of fighting in Singapore, the battalion defending Braddell Road. They were ordered to surrender to the Japanese on Sunday, 15th February 1942.
