Harold James Wesley was born on 29th August 1916 (Risbridge Q4-1916 4A:1516), son of George and Georgina WESLEY (née ARGENT)
The Japanese had his mother as Georgina at The Crescent, Steeple Bumpstead. His occupation was labourer. In 1939 his widowed mother [1-1-1881] and widowed aunt Kate ARGENT [Nov-1880] were at North Street, Steeple Bumpstead.


He was captured on the day of the surrender of Singapore to the Japanese.

From their regimental number James Wesley (5828507)-Leslie Tarling (5828512)-Reginald Wesley (5828518) and Leslie Ling (5828526) must have been mobilised in the 5th Suffolks at the same time.

James Wesley is buried in Thanbyuzayat War Cemetery, grave B3:M:1
having been moved from Sonkrai Cemetery in December 1945
