Edward Augustus TAYLOR was born in Bildeston on 11th August 1919 (3rd qtr 1919 Sudbury 4a:1395), son of Augustus William and Beatrice Elizabeth TAYLOR (née WILLIAMS).
His parents moved from Long Melford to The Forge, Whepstead.

In the 1939 Register his father, born 5-7-1885, a master blacksmith, and his mother, born 7-9-1880, were at The Forge, Whepstead,


He was captured at the surrender of Singapore on 15th February 1942 and died of cholera at Kinsayoke, cremated there (grave 123) and re-interred at Kanchanaburi on 14th March 1946
