Jack Percy Holden was born in Wickhambrook 25th March 1920 (Risbridge Q2-1920 4A:1915), son of Ernest Edward and Jessie HOLDEN (née MURKIN). In the 1939 register the family were at Thorns Corner, Wickhambrook, father Ernest E [23-3-1887] master blacksmith; mother Jessie [27-4-1888] and Jack P, a clerk in milk distributive trade. For some reason the Roll of Honour in the church has him as John Holden. |
Jack was captured at the surrender of Singapore to the Japanese on 15th February 1942. His Japanese PoW card has not been found.
