ALPHETON WAR MEMORIAL
They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old,
Inside the church of St.Peter and St.Paul, Alpheton, on the south wall of the nave is a grey marble tablet (890 mm high, 686 mm wide) incised with a
commemoration to 8 men of the parish who died in the Great War, 1914-1919, the lettering is gilded, with a white Cross above the dedication. The tablet is
on a background of dark grey marble. It was made by Mr HANCHETT and unveiled on 22nd October 1921 by Sergeant MAKIN

There is one further man, Albert WHITEROD, a native of Alpheton, not named on the memorial
In addition there is this plaque honouring those who died 1939-1945
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn
At the going down of the sun, and in the morning,
