Orbell William DRAKE was born Plumstead, Kent (4th qtr 1893 Woolwich 1d:1239) son of Elias and Ann DRAKE (née ORBELL)

1901 census...Aged 7, he was at Barrow Street with his father Elias DRAKE [34] farm labourer, born Barrow; his mother Ann [32] born Barrow; brother Bernard Charles [9] and sister Ethel W [4] both born Plumstead.

1911 census...Aged 17, he was in the Northamptonshire Regiment in Northampton. His parents and sister Ethel were still in Barrow. Brother Bernard was in the Norfolk Regiment in Aldershot

In 1919 his parents and sister Ethel were still at Barrow Street.
His brother Bernard, with the Norfolk Regiment, was killed in Mesopotamia in 1915 see here


He enlisted in Bury St.Edmunds

Dying of his wounds and his service record not found, it is impossible to say exactly when or where he was wounded.
