Reginald Albert WALLIS was born on 15th January 1920 (1st qtr 1920 Bury St.Edmunds 4a:2284) son of Sidney and Anne WALLIS (née FROST)

In the 1939 register Reginald was a plasterer's improver, living at 6 Council Houses, Barrow with his father Sidney [4-7-1893] disabled labourer; his mother [31-3-1897] and brother Ronald G [18-11-1921] trainee painter. One closed record.

Having got home from Dunkirk, Reginald married Joyce BARBER on 16th September 1941 and was posted to Ireland. He came back and went through the London blitz before being posted to Dunbar, Scotland. His widow married Leonard COLEMAN and died 2014.


Reginald was clearing mines on beaches at St. Fergus, Peterhead, Scotland with Corporal John Wood when Coproal Wood stepped on a mine and both men were killed
