William Watson was born in Carlton Highdale, Yorks (3rd qtr 1885 Leyburn 9d:647) son of Thomas Jeffery and Alice Elizabeth WATSON (née ROBINSON)

1891 census...Aged 5, he was in Woodale with his father Thomas WATSON [42] farmer born Horsehouse; his mother Alice [30] born Coverhead; sister Harriet [10] born Coverhead; brothers James [7] born Kettlewell and Mathias [2] born Woodale.

1901 census...Aged 16, he was still with his parents and siblings in Carlton Highdale, with a new sister, Eliza [9] and brother Leonard [6]

1911 census...Not found in this census. His parents however were still in Carlton Highdale. It is not known when they moved to The Street, Barrow

The pension card has him as William George WATSON and his mother at The Street, Barrow

He enlisted in Bury St.Edmunds
He died of Dysentery in No.29 Stationary Hospital, Salonika
