Harold Eric Lancelot Pendred was born in Bury St.Edmunds (1st qtr 1895 Bury St.Edmunds 4a:819) son of James John and Barbara May PENDRED (née SPENCE)

1901 census...Aged 6, he was at 32 Albert Street, Bury St.Edmunds with his father James PENDRED [39] cabinet maker; his mother Barbara [33] born Lyndhurst Hants; brother Ronald [7] and sister Ruby [2]. All except his mother were born in Bury St.Edmunds

1911 census...Aged 16, a warehouse clerk, he was boarding at 84-89 Wood Street,London EC. His widowed mother was head teacher at Lackford School, with his sister Ruby Irene May. His father had died in 1902

On the pension card his mother was in Bradfield Dt Clare

Dying of his wounds and no service record available, especially as he was artillery, it is not possible to say where or when he was wounded. He would have died at either No.5 or No.21 Casualty Clearing Station at La.Neuville
