A vry active day. At 7:30 am the enemy started shelling our area wth whizzbangs, 4.2s and 5.9s. Front line, suports, reserve lines NINTH and TENTH AVENUES all received attention. Bn HQ received some gas shells as well. This activity eased up somewhat at 1:30 pm. As well as shelling, the enemy also heavily minned the front and support lines of the left and centre Coys and slightly to the right. The left Coy suffered severely. Our T M s were apparently out of action.
12 noon-1:30 pm our artillery had a shoot, shelling enemy T.M. emplacements with 9.2s and the enemy fron and support lines with 6 inch howitzers. In spite of this however from 2:45 pm-3:30 pm enemy sent over minnies and whizzbans all along the line. In the evening the enemy settled down and the night was very quiet.

The battalion lost 6 men killed.
