Born in 1897 ( 3rd qtr Bury St.Edmunds 4a:830), son of Henry Ambrose and Elizabeth Susan HINNELS (née PARKER)

1901 census...Aged 3, he was at 10 Queens Road, Bury St.Edmunds with his father Henry A HINNELS [35] solicitor's clerk; his mother Elizabeth S [31] born Eriswell; brother Godfrey P[5] and sister Mabel E [1]. All except his mother were born in Bury St.Edmunds.

1911 census...Aged 13, he was still at 10 Queens Road, with his parents,sister Mabel Elizabeth and brother Godfrey Parker.


He enlisted in Bury St.Edmunds.
On 17th October the battalion re-took Hill 60, with just Frank Hinnels dying that day
