No.23950, Sergeant, George Walter PECK M.M.
Aged 22
There is confusion here between what the Bury Free Press have and other records. The BFP states he was in the Army 2 years before the war
and was in France by 6th August but the medal index card has no 1914 star. Also his father is G W Peck in the BFP, not Walter James, and no marriage has been found for
a G W Peck, but the was one in 1912 for George E Peck to Florence J HULL ...any help here would be most welcome Born in 1895 (1st qtr Bury St.Edmunds 4a:825) son of Walter James and Ellen Martha PECK (née BAKER) 1901 census...Aged 6, he was at 100 Northgate Street,Bury St.Edmunds with his mother Ellen M PECK [35] born Hawstead.
