Sidney William SIMPSON was born in Balsham on 14th April 1920 (Linton Q2-1920 3B:979) baptised in Balsham on 16th May 1920, son of Robert William and Maud SIMPSON (née JACOBS) .

In the 1939 register none of these could be found.


1st Battalion was a Regular Army unit that served in the Burma Campaign and India throughout the war with the 32nd Indian Infantry Brigade, 20th Indian Infantry Division until April 1945.
So far unable to find their whereabouts on March 1st 1945.

Initially buried in Mandalay War Cemetery, when this became un-maintainable, in 1951, the graves were removed to Taukkyan
