The battalion was part of an attack to take German positions some 3 miles east of Elverdinge. It was actually the first time that the officers dressed the same as the men, hoping of course to reduce their losses from snipers. A cross was found at 28.B.8.d.9.1 with his details but no remains, removed to Duhallows Cemetery and details added to Menin Gate Memorial It is of course unknown as to whether the cross discovered in Elverdinge actually marked where Henry was originally buried, or whether the cross itself had somehow been moved. As there were no remains found, his name was entered on the Menin Gate and on a Duhallows Stone at that cemetery.
