Samuel Ernest Reynolds was born in Depden (2nd qtr 1892 Thingoe 4a:759) son of Samuel Ernest and Eliza REYNOLDS(née KING)

1901 census...Aged 9, he was at Shop End, Depden with his father Samuel Ernest REYNOLDS [35] farm bailiff, born Lawshall; his mother Eliza [33] born Bury St.Edmunds; sisters Anne Eliza [12], Ethel May [7], Clementine [5], Sarah Ann [2] and Ellen Rebecca [4 months]. All the children were born in Depden.

1911 census...Aged 18, a stockman on farm, he was still at Shop End, Depeden with his parents; sisters Clementine, Sarah and Ellen and niece Iris REYNOLDS [3] born Bury St.Edmunds

On the pension card his mother was at 141 Wallace Road, Ipswich.



He enlisted in Chevington.
With no service record found and dying at a base hospital there is no way of knowing exactly when or where he was wounded. It was about the time of the first attempt to take Gaza.
