Samuel Ernest Reynolds was born in Depden (2nd qtr 1892 Thingoe 4a:759) son of Samuel Ernest and Eliza REYNOLDS(née KING)
1901 census...Aged 9, he was at Shop End, Depden with his father Samuel Ernest REYNOLDS  farm bailiff, born Lawshall; his mother Eliza  born Bury St.Edmunds; sisters Anne Eliza , Ethel May , Clementine , Sarah Ann  and Ellen Rebecca [4 months]. All the children were born in Depden.
1911 census...Aged 18, a stockman on farm, he was still at Shop End, Depeden with his parents; sisters Clementine, Sarah and Ellen and niece Iris REYNOLDS  born Bury St.Edmunds
On the pension card his mother was at 141 Wallace Road, Ipswich.
He enlisted in Chevington.|
With no service record found and dying at a base hospital there is no way of knowing exactly when or where he was wounded. It was about the time of the first attempt to take Gaza.
