Apparently there was a reporting error:
In the Newmarket Journal of 28th August 1915 the death in action was reported of Jack Corley. There were two brothers, Charles and John Corley at Burwell Corner who enlisted early in the war, Charles in the Suffolks and John in the A.S.C., but both survived the war.
