Born on 23rd July 1917 (Newmarket Q3-1917 3B/651) Son of Walter and Annie "Daisy" PARR ( née POTTER).



In the 1939 register, at 12 Victoria Terrace, Laceys Lane, Exning were his father Walter [23-2-1892] gas works stoker; his mother Annie [13-1-1886]; sisters Millie L [21-12-1913] later FARR and Violet M [22-2-1920] later PEARSON. There are 2 closed records.

He was the cousin of Russell LAMBERT . They must have signed on together since they have consecutive Army numbers


Walter was captured on 15th February 1942 when Singapore was surrendered to the Japanese. He died of Cholera at Tonchan, Thailand., his grave being one of many that were subsequently lost.
