Frank Perkins was born on 3rd January 1915 in Soham (Newmarket Q1-1915 3B:), baptised in Soham on 7th February 1915, son of Frank and Rose May PERKINS (née ALLEN) of Brook Street, Soham, father a groom/gardener They were later living in Fordham.

In 1939 the family were at 12 Eldith Avenue, Fordham - father Frank [26-3-1892] a farm carter; mother Rose [8-5-1892]; brothers Ronald [30-5-1918] a farm carter; Frederick [24-2-1920] a general labourer; Edwin [2-3-1921] farm carter and Geoffrey [28-5-1925] at school. Three closed records, presumably Frank and Percy were 2 of them.
He was the elder brother of Percy PERKINS see here

4 of the 1st Suffolks died on 22nd May 1940 during the retreat to Dunkirk. On the 22nd they were holding their line at the Scheldt. The evacuation from Dunkirk took place from 27th May to 4th June.
