1901 census...Aged 5, he was at School Road, Great Barton with his father George CRICK [46] farm labourer born Cockfield; his mother Lottie [36] born Walsham le Willows; sisters Edith A [10], Dorothy M [8] and Elsie N [1]; brother Herbert G [5]. All the children were born in Great Barton. 1911 census...Aged 15, a farm labourer, he was still at School Road with his parents and sisters Elsie Nellie, Beatrice Lottie [9] and May Vincent [7] On the pension card his mother was at Rose Cottage, and then Thurston Road, Great Barton. |
He enlisted in Bury St.Edmunds
On 15th December 1917, after the taking of Jerusalem on the 9th, the battalion captured Bornat Hill, suffering 75 casualties in the process ( 11 of them killed).
