Arthur Reynolds was born in Horringer (4th qtr 1921 Bury St.Edmunds 4a:1567) son of Albert Edward and Alice Jane Knock REYNOLDS (née AUSTIN).

In the 1939 register, at The Street, Horringer, were his father Albert E [8-5-1876] labourer, his mother Alice J [3-8-1884]; brothers Leonard V [13-10-1911] foundry worker and Alan [3-6-1919 sugar beet factory worker and Sydney [16-10-1922] farm worker; sister Louisa [15-8-1915]. There are 2 closed records. These would be Joan E [1913] and Phyllis [1914].


He joined the RHA in 1938.
1 Regiment Royal Horse Artillery went to Egypt in October 1940, taking part in operations at Tobruk and Gazala and the battles at El Alamein. Arthur was killed in the period between 1st and 2nd El Alamein.
