Charles Wright was born in Lawshall (2nd qtr 1883 Sudbury 4a:610) son of Benjamin and Frances WRIGHT(née ARMSTRONG)

1891 census...Aged 7, he was at Lawshall Green with his father Benjamin WRIGHT [46] farm labourer born Shimpling; his mother Frances [46]; sisters Jane [14] and Frances [9]; brother William [3]. All except his father born in Lawshall.

1901 census...Aged 17, cattleman, he was at Lawshall Green with his parents; sister Frances; brother William.

1911 census...Aged 27, farm labourer, he was at Lawshall Green with his widowed mother; brother Joseph [42] and William [24] both farm labourers; uncle Orris Wright [74]. His father died in 1904.

On the pension card his mother was at Lawshall Green



He enlisted in Lawshall.
With no service record available and dying of wounds it is impossible to say where or when he was wounded. That Christmas the battalion was in billets at Les Choquaux
