Ha was born at Chevington on 4th July 1891 (3rd qtr 1891 Thingoe 4a:728), son of John and Alice Fanny Maritz WHITE (née HANCOCKS)

1901 census...Aged 9, he was at Battlies House, Rougham with his father John WHITE [43] estate agent/farmer born Chevington; his mother Alice F [40] born South Africa, sister Mabel G [11] born Chevington; brother Alexander [2] born Rougham.

From the Special Reserves, Army Service Corps, he was commissioned in the Hampshire Regiment in 1913, served in Mauritius and India. He was in Gallipoli in March 1915. The battalion war diary for June 1915 seems to start at the 9th, and hence no idea how or where exactly he died. There was certainly some action on the 4th as the Battalion had 47 killed.
