CAN YOU HELP PLEASE?

Several names on the War memorial unfortunately still remain just that, just a name.

Perhaps you may recognise a name, maybe you can provide some extra clue in order that we can carry out further research. Such is the cosmopolitan nature of the population of Newmarket, at any one time there are hundreds of residents who are not actually natives of the town, they have no family connection here. The plaque of the Astley Club carries names of its members who failed to return from the Great War, but does not give us anything other than their names, but that at least established their Newmarket connection. Some of these still elude us in our research. There is still even one casualty from WW2 for whom we have just his name on the Memorial, not the slightest clue as to who he might have been.
