Maurice Pierson Capp was born in Long Stratton on 22nd February 1915 (1st qtr 1915 Depwade 4b:388), son of Wesley and Agnes Mary Ann (née LARWOOD). Baptised on 5th April 1915 at St. Mary's, Stratton (father a gardener).

In the 1939 Register his parents were at Bury Road, Great Barton, father a gardener. His Japanese PoW card gives his father's address as The Cottage, Ixworth.



He was captured at the surrender of Singapore to the Japanese on 15th Febraury 1942. The cause of death was recorded as "Indigestion", another record says beriberi..
