His parents were Mill End Road, Pakenham. On the pension card his mother was at Mill Road, Pakenham. |

In trenches near Clery sur Somme, the war diary has:- During the early morning heavy trench mortars landed in trenches occupied by D Coy on left, one killing 6 OR and another killing 1 OR and wounding 1 OR Relieved by 4th King's Liverpool Regt. Relief started at 7:45 pm and was completed by 11:45 pm Casualties 7 OR killed and 4 OR wounded.
