Albert Edward Nunn was born in Pakenham on 21st August 1913 (3rd qtr 1913 Bury St. Edmunds 4a:1847), son of Arthur James and Isabella Anna NUNN (née STANNARD). His will had the address as 12 Council Houses, Ixworth and administration was to Evelyn Annie SHARPE, wife of Charles Walter SHARPE.

1921 census...Aged 7 years 10 months, he was at Pakenham with his father Arthur James NUNN [48 6/12],farm labourer; his mother Isabella Anna [47 2/12]; brothers Arthur Leonard [27 11/12], Walter Mervyn [22 7/12], Roy Willie [16 8/12], all three farm labourers and Ivan George [1- 1/12]; sister Edna May [13 6/12]. All were born in Pakenham. Father, Arthur and Walter worked for Mr Bridges at Maulkin's Hall, Pakenham and Roy for Mr Marsh at Kiln Farm at Stowlangtoft.



He was captured at the surrender of Singapore to the Japanese on 15th February 1942. He was wounded and rejoined his group from Roberts Hospital in Singapore on 25th February 1942 and was on one of the overland parties to the railway on 24th June.
Admitted to hospitsl at Chungkai on 29th November 1942 and died on 16th January 1943.
The Japanese PoW card has his brother at 12 Council Houses, Ixworth. but another report has Ivan at The Fen Pakenham.
His death was due to Cardiac and Beriberi, originally buried in 10:N:6, Chungkai Cemetery Extension, he was re-interred in 1948.
