Built as the USS Satterlee (DD 190), on 8 Oct 1940 she was transferred to the Royal Navy and renamed HMS Belmont (H-46). At 22.12 on 31 January 1942, HMS Belmont (H-46) of the 3rd Escort Group, with convoy NA-2, was torpedoed and sunk by U-82 (Siegfried Rollmann) south of Newfoundland. There were no survovirs.
