Frederick Cecil Watts was born in Stowlangtoft (2nd qtr 1893 Stow 4a:808), son of Frederick and Emily WATTS(née THREADGILL).

1901 census...Aged 7, he was at Garden House, Stowlangtoft with his father Frederick WATTS [41] gardener; his mother Emily [32] born Wattisfield; sisters Daisy E [5] and Violet R [3]; brothers Percy R [2] and Maurice R [6 months]. All except his mother were born in Stowlangtoft.

1911 census...Aged 17, an under gardener, he was at The Gardens, Stowlangtoft Hall with his parents; sisters Violet R, Grace B [5], Doris M [4] and Nora P [2]; brothers Percy R, Maurice R and Horace B [6].

The pension card has his mother at The Gardens, Stowlangtoft Hall.


He enlisted in Bury St. Edmunds. He died of influenza in France in a base hospital in or near Boulgne (recorded as Cecil WATTS).
