Henry Robert Victor Pleasance was born in Hoxton (2nd qtr 1897 Holborn 1b:741), son of Frederick Edward Frost and Agnes Annie PLEASANCE (née GARDINER). The CWGC have his age wrong.

1901 census...Aged 3, he was at 43 Cavendish Street, Shoreditch with his father Fred.E.F. Pleasance [31] policeman; his mother Agnes A [26] born Lucknow, India; brother William F [2] and sister Dorothyn M [7 months]. All except his mother were born in Hoxton.

The pension card has his mother at Tostock Green.

He enlisted in Finsbury Barracks, Middlesex, resident in Stepney. .

In the absence of his service records and nothing in the Bury Free Press, it is not possible to say exactly where he was or when he was wounded. The cemetery was in German held territory so it appears his body was found by them. He seems to have been reported missing but wounded and later presumed dead.
