Just to confuse the unit situation, 20th Training Reserve Brigade 87th 21st (Reserve) Bn, the Durham Light Infantry Hornsea TR/5 became "D" Bn MGC
The 20th TR Brigade also absorbed the 33rd and 34th Northumberland Fusiliers and the 13th Durham Light Infantry. By May 1917 the brigade had moved to Catterick and became dedicated to receiving recruits who would be allotted to the Machine Gun Corps. It moved again, to Clipstone, in early 1918 and was then retitled as 1st Training Brigade, Machine Gun Corps. The cap badge situation was just as confused as at one time they wore a general service button on a red disc. later replaced by the number of their battalion and TR shoulder flashes.

Abraham Clarke is buried in West Row (St.Peter's) Churchyard, west of church, private headstone
and commemorated on the Mildenhall war memorial.
