Frank Albert HOBBS was born on 29th June 1889 (Linton Q3-1889 3B:513), baptised in Balsham on 21st July 1889, son of William Goward and Annie HOBBS (née GRIGG).

1891 census...Aged 1, he was at High Street, Balsham with his father William HOBBS [26] groom; his mother Annie [29]; brother Henry W [5]. All were Balsham born.

1901 census...Aged 11, he was at Nine Chimneys Lane, Balsham with his parents (father now farm labourer); brothers Percy S [9] and sister Florence L [7] both born Carlton; sisters Mildred A [5] and Phyllis P [3 months] both born Balsham.

1911 census...Aged 21, a carter, he was at Nine Chimney Lane, Balsham with his widower mother; brother Percy, a bricklayer's labourer;sisters Mildred [14] and Alma [7]

He married Agnes K CLARKE in 1914 and lived in Balsham

In the 1939 register Frank was a carpenter, living at High Street, Balsham with his wife Agnes K.[9-7-1889] and their daughter Berenise [14-12-1918] later Mrs BOTTOMLEY.


Without his death certificate or help from relatives, the circumstances of his death are unknown



Frank Hobbs is buried in Holy Trinity Churchyard, Balsham, south boundary
