All except his father were born in Bardwell. 1901 census...Aged 16, journeyman butcher, he was at Upstreet, Bardwell with his parents, brothers Arthur (woodman), Harry (journeyman bricklayer), Percy [9] and Cecil [4] both born Bardwell; sister Rose and Ada. 1911 census...Aged 26, a butcher, he was at The Shop, Upstreet, Bardwell with his parents; brothers Arthur (woodman), Frederick Harry (bricklayer) and Alfred Cecil (blacksmith's apprentice); sister Ada. |
He enlisted in Ipswich.
