Keith Leonard Watson was born on 15th August 1916 (3rd qtr 1916 Bury St.Edmunds 4a:1720) son of William James and Lily Emma WATSON (née PEARSON)

In the 1939 register Keith was at Alma House, Barrow, an estate agent, with his father [20-2-1885] shopkeeper/ garage proprietor and his mother [26-1-1886]. There are 3 closed records



Keith was a sergeant pilot on Armstrong Whitworth Whitley Mk V ser.no T4159 c/s GE-J of 58 Squardon Royal Air Force which failed to return to Linton on Ouse on 23rd December 1940 after a bombing raid on various ports in the Ludwigshaven locality. The only loss on this raid, they crashed into the sea of Torbay in Devon. The rest of the crew were Sgt S Smith (RNAF)(Captain) - Sgt A E Gowling-Scopes - Sgt J Rowlnads - Sgt J W Chamberlain (Air 81/4675 at Kew, not digitised)
