Hugh Bridges was born on 23rd October 1879 in Pakenham(4th qtr 1879 Thingoe 4a:576) son of Harry Clenece and Jane BRIDGES (née JANNINGS). Baptised 11th December 1879 in Pakenham St Mary's.

1881 census...Aged 1, he was at Red Castle Farm, Pakenham with his father Harry Clemence BRIDGES [40] farmer; his mother Jane [37] born Dagworth Hall; his sister Maud Annie [3] and brother Henry Montague [2]. All ezcept his mother were born in Pakenham.

1891 census...Aged 11, he was still at Red Castle Farm with his parents; sisters Maudw Annie and Rose Evelyn [4]; brothers Montague Harry, Owen [10] and Norman [7].

1901 census...Aged 21, he was still at Red Castle Farm with his parents and sisters Maude and Rose.

1911 census...Aged 32, working on the farm, he was still at Red Castle Farm with his widower father; brother Harry and sisters Maude and Rose. His mother had died in 1906.

At some time he resided in Norton according to probate
His father had died in 1912 and his legatee was brother Owen with whom he lived for some time in Beyton.


He enlisted in Beyton and died serving with the 10th Suffolks in Felixstowe
