Albert Edward Green was born in 1919 (1st qtr 1919 Bury St.Edmunds 4a:1167) son of Arthur Robert and Edith Kate GREEN (née BUCKLE). His mother died in 1934

He married Joan OSBORNE in 1940. In 1939 she was at Thurston Road, Beyton with her widowed mother.


The 2/7th after their early mauling in France in 1940, re-formed in England and later served in India and Iraq before joining the 8th Army at Enfidaville after a vehicle journey of 3313 miles which lasted for 31 days. Later they served in Italy
In September 1944 the 2nd/7th were involved in fighting at Monte Capella, Gemmano Ridge, Croce, Ceriano Ridge and Savignano.
