Harry William Gault was born in Bradfield Combust (4th qtr 1890 Thingoe (4a:634) son of Alfred and Sarah GAULT (née TAYLOR)

1891 census...Aged 6 month he was in Bradfield Combust with his father Alfred GAULT [39] bricklayer born Cockfield; his mother Sarah Elizabeth [36] born Beccles; brothers John G [11] born Ingham, Bertie A [5]; sisters Flora M [10], Eva May [7] and Edith M [3]. All the children except John were born in Bradfield Combust.

1901 census...Aged 10, he was at the Street, Bradfield Combust with his widowed mother; brother Bertie (garden labourer) and George A [8] and sister Edith M
His father had died in 1892

1911 census...Aged 20, a stockman on farm, he was in Bradfield Combust with his mother and brother Bertie Alfred (coal porter)

Probate was to spinster Lydia Ruth BUTCHER.

He enlisted in Bury St.Edmunds

The battalion was in the line at Canal Bank, Ypres. The war diary names 10 wounded that day with Harry the only one killed
