Walter William FROST was born in Bradfield St Clare (2nd qtr 1896 Thingoe 4a:788) son of Walter and Frances Maria FROST (née COCKSEDGE)

1901 census...Aged 5, he was at Cross Green, Bradfield St Goerge with his father Walter FROST [39] labourer; his mother Fanny (Frances) [33]; brothers Ernest [14], Henry [13], George [11] and his twin Reginald; sisaters Ada [10], Alice [9], Ethel [4] and Edith [2]. All recorded as born in Bradfield St Clare (later records show some as born in Bradfield St George).

1911 census...Aged 15, he was at Slate Cottages, Bradfield St George with his parents, father now recorded as born Bury St.Edmunds and mother in Cockfield, and his twin brother Reginald born Bradfield St George, brother Frederick and sisters Ethel [14] and Edith [12].

He married Emily FENWICK [16-10-1892] in York in 1916. Their son, Walter William, was born on 26th November 1916

He enlisted in York. He died in Persia of dysentery, seemingly at Kasvin.
Dunsterforce consisted of officers and N.C.O's selected to proceed as a British mission to the Caucasus. They were assembled at Baghdad in the latter part of 1917, and the advanced guard of the force, with Generl Dunsterville in command entered Persia in January 1918. For some time progress was slow, owing to roads being rendered impassable by snow. Hamadan was reached, but the state of the inhabitants was so wretched that time had to be spent in relief work. Posts were established all along the road, and work was commenced in training Persian levies. Kasvin was reached later. General Dunsterville puhed on to Enzeli, the Persian port on the South Caspian.
