Born in 1885 (2nd qtr Bury St.Edmunds 4a:661) son of George and Lucy BANHAM (née LAND )

1891 census...Aged 6, he was at 1 Victoria Place with his father George BANHAM [47] Platelayer born Buxton, Norwich; mother Lucy [49] born Pulham St.Mary; brother George W [20] platelayer, born Claydon and Henry [15] railway porter born Bury St.Edmunds; sisters Ethel [10] and Alice [7] both born in Bury St.Edmunds.

1901 census...Aged 15, a grocer's porter, he was still at 1 Victoria Place wth his parents and sister Mary [26] born Bramford.

1911 census...Aged 26, a grocer's assistant, he was at 1 Victoria Cottages, Bury St.Edmunds with his parents. His mother had lost 1 of her 10 children.

He married Kate Mary FULLER [25-6-1885] in qtr 4 1915 in Bury St.Edmunds

The pension card has his widow at 26 Maynewater Lane, Bury St.Edmunds


He enlisted in Ipswich. He died from wounds received in action, but without his service records it is impossible to say where and when he was wounded.
