The pension card is for his sister Mrs Kate STACE, 12 Rye Street, Eastbourne. She was his sole legatee according to his "Soldiers Personal Effects"

He enlisted in Ipswich, when resident in Ipswich.
His medal index card is obviousy wrong in recording "killed in action", whenhe died in a Base Hospital. From the date of entering theatre of war (7-11-1914) it seems he could have qualified for the clasp to hs Mons Sat, but it was not claimed. As his Army service record has not been found, it is impossilbe to say where and when he was wounded.
