1901 census...none of the family have been found in this census 1911 census...Aged 18, assisting in the busines, he was at 83 Duke's Street, Chelmsford with his father Frederick BAYLIS [42] fish monger born Banbury,Oxford; his mother Rose [45] born Hartlepool; brothers Horace [15] born Colchester, Leslie [8] born Coggshall and Victor [5] borne East Colne The family appears to have moved to Bury St.Edmnds since they were at the Everards Hotel in 1917 according to newspaper reports.. |
He enlisted in Bury St.Edmunds. Dying of wounds in 15th General Hospital, Alexandria, and no Army service record found, it is impossible to say where or when he was wounded.
