Born in Gazeley on 14th February 1919 (1st qtr 1919 Newmarket 3b:580) son of William Percy and Ida Blanche BOCOCK (née BROWNE). Husband of Sheila Mary BOCOCK (née BROADHEAD) of Leeds In the 1939 register he was home on leave at 8 Weetwood Avenue, Leeds, with his father and mother in law to be, William and Mary BROADHEAD

Citation for Distinguished Flying Cross
Acting Flight Lieutenant Eric Percy William BOCOCK (61215), Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve, No. 602 Squadron. Since July, 1941, this officer has participated in many operational sorties. Throughout, he has displayed courage, initiative and great energy. He has destroyed at least 3 enemy aircraft, 2 of which he shot down on one sortie. London Gazette No. 35518, Dated 1942-04-10

Eric was with 234 squadron from October to December 1943, and then was CO of 549 Squadron in Australia from January 1944 to October 1945.

He was flying Gloster Meteor Mk III, ser.no. EE490 on 13th September 1946 from RAF Leconfield and just after a pass over the airfield the aircraft disintegrated in mid air,
RAF Leconfield was home to the RAF Central Gunnery School

Eric Bocock is buried in Leconfield (St Catherine's) Churchyard
and commemorated in St Edmundsbury Church on the King Edward School Memorial
