Born in 3rd qtr 1914 Bury St.Edmunds 4a:1824, son of George and Harriet Sarah BOOR (née BURROUGHS ) He married Hilda Katie GLADWELL [15-5-1913] in 1935. Their son Edward George was born 1st December 1935. In 1939 she was living at 4 Cullum Road, Bury St.Edmunds. She married again, to Arthur GREENWOOD in 1950.

He was a regular soldier, enlisting in the Royal Artillery in 1933. The regiment sailed from Liverpool on 5th January 1943on the SS "Monarch of Bermuda", arriving Algiers 17th January.
One record by a member of the unit says on 28th April..." Have now established C.P. and a few heavy shells begin to fall around us, presents from Jerry. C troop moves forward and suffer 7 casualties when they get a direct hit on guns. Basil etc. are injured. Tank battle into night when things quieten down again."
