Born 14th April 1898 (2nd qtr Bury St.Edmunds 4a:822) son of Arthur Edward and Laura Lavinia BUNN (née MEGGS )

1901 census...Aged 2, he was at 28 Bridewell Lane, Bury St.Edmunds with his mother Laura BUNN [34]; brothers Robert [12] and Frederick [6]. His father was a boarder at Albert Road, Parkstone, Dorset with the Cookman family.

1911 census...Aged 12, he was at 6 Hospital Road, Bury St.Edmunds with his father Arthur BUNN [46] joiner born Dickleburgh, Norfolk and his mother.

He was educated at Guildhall Foeffment School in Bridewell Lane, Bury St.Edmunds. His brother insituted a memorial prize there in 1918 whch was 10 shillings 6 pence (52.5p) for the boy in the top class, who showed the best understanding, in their written essay, of the qualties that constitute a True Gentleman. The prize was awarded annually up until 1925.


He enlisted in Bury St.Edmunds on 9th September but due to his youth, not accepted for oversease service.
The offical records give the cause of death as "brain compressed by haemorrhage when dummy bomb exploded during throwing training; accidental death."
